The 2013 Fisker Surf is an interesting cross between a modern Ferrari FF and a vintage Volvo 1800ES. Fisker’s next hybrid car, a companion to the Karma sedan, is one stunning wagon.
The California-based startup company, headed by design whiz Henrik Fisker, calls it a “vision of a crossover between a sports car and a station wagon” and “perhaps the most elegant production sport wagon ever made.”
The Surf is slated to go on sale in mid-2012 as a 2013 model, the company said, using many of the components designed originally for the Karma. Indeed, Fisker observes that, “mechanically, the cars are virtually identical.”
At the car’s official introduction here, Henrik Fisker said, “The Surf is a first-of-its-kind eco-friendly lifestyle vehicle that offers space, performance and luxury design for people who live an active, environmentally conscious lifestyle and like to drive beautiful cars.”
The price is not yet known, but it would be prudent to expect a six-figure sticker, considering the Karma is now priced from $95,000.
