Recession woes are hitting the exotic automakers too.
Lamborghini announced a temporary shut down due to a decrease in worldwide demand. Management say that production will come to halt for two weeks in late February and continue into March.
Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann released the following statement.
“We have established a decade of sales and profit increases, including another record year for deliveries in 2008, but we cannot maintain the previous levels of production during the downturn.”
Lambo maintains that its long-term plans remain intact and that they still plan to bring a new model to market each year.
