Typically when we hear Anastasia Beverly Hills, we think of perfectly sculpted eyebrows and amazing products to achieve those results. We’re here to tell you that this brand is much more than brows. Anastasia has turned her perfectionist eye to making our lips look divine.
Since lip gloss is a personal necessity for us, we decided to give the famous brand a try. We ordered two Anastasia Beverly Hills lip glosses in “Candy” and “Pastel Pink.” Here are our thoughts.
The wand definitely helps with the application. A brush would likely make this highly pigmented lip gloss an unusable nightmare. Applying this gloss takes a bit of precision and the wand is definitely a wise choice from the maker.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss is promised to be “a smooth creamy formula that delivers high coverage color with a glass-like finish.”
We found both lip glosses to be both creamy and smooth. The colors are highly pigmented for lip gloss. The pigment is almost comparable to that of a lipstick. (Anastasia also makes liquid lipsticks, but we haven’t tried those yet for comparison.)
We loved both colors that we ordered, Candy and Pastel Pink. Because the gloss is much more pigmented than regular gloss, you have to be more precise when applying. Apply too little and the gloss looks too faint and streaky. Apply too much and you run the risk of looking slightly insane. We kid, but seriously you’ll look kooky.
As far as the promise of a “glass-like finish,” we don’t think it totally delivered. Glossy, yes. Shiny, yes. Glass-like might be taking it a little too far.
The verdict: Anastasia makes a superior product once again. The colors are gorgeous and provide more coverage than a typical lip gloss. Application does take some practice, but it’s worth it.
