We don’t usually get to hear about it in the U.S., but each year there is a music festival in Switzerland known as the Montreaux Jazz Festival. As the title implies, the music is mostly jazz and the festival is brimming with contemporary artists in what is most always an impressive event. One of the sponsors of the event is watch company Parmigiani Fleurier, who creates limited-edition timepieces for the festival.
This year top performers received one of these Parmigiani limited-edition watches. Notable recipients included such names as Alice Cooper, the Black Eyed Peas, Wyclef Jean, and B.B. King.
Two versions of the limited-edition watch are available, one for men and another for women. The dial was modeled after the event poster with whimsical winding piano keys. The men’s model in the Kalpa XL features a blue alligator strap. The ladies’ version is a pink dial model with a white python strap and comes in the Kalpa Grande watch case. Both versions come with a steel case and automatic Swiss movements. The limited-edition watches make nice collector’s items, especially for the jazz music enthusiast.
