By the hotel’s pool and fully equipped fitness center is the California-style spa. Mosaic tiles and one-of-a-kind artworks decorate the eight-room spa, which features signature treatments such as the Leaf & Rusher DermaRoller facial and ice cream pedicures for younger guests. While treatments are performed in either the tranquil spa setting or outside in new private poolside cabanas, those looking for a bite to eat afterward need only venture a few steps to the poolside Cabana Restaurant for some casual Mediterranean cuisine. For those seeking a more sophisticated culinary experience, the hotel’s new restaurant, Culina, offers modern Italian fare in a formal setting. The hotel’s renovation also included transforming its chic Windows Lounge, which now boasts a green onyx fireplace, backlit photographic glass bar top, and two wrought-iron cabanas on the expanded patio.
Although such upgraded amenities certainly help freshen the feel of the 23-year-old hotel, the focus of revamp becomes apparent when viewing the 285 nature-inspired rooms and suites, which Santa Barbara, California–based SFA Design generously modernized using soothing color palettes, warm woodwork, and elegant stones. Some of the suites include custom-designed chef’s kitchens and Swarovski crystal sconces and chandeliers. Nightly rates for guest rooms and suites range from $415 to $6,950.
