On September 1, the historic Pera Palace Hotel reopens after an extensive two-year restoration project. Originally built in 1895, it was the first luxury hotel in the Ottoman Empire, and the last destination stop in the East for passengers onboard the Orient Express. With expansive views of the Golden Horn, the hotel has 115 rooms, including 16 suites, and amenities feature a spa with a traditional Turkish hammam and an indoor swimming pool. Among its dining options are afternoon tea at the Kubbeli Saloon and a fusion of French, Italian, and Turkish specialities at the Agatha Restaurant.
